There are times in our lives where we experience challenging, distressing and difficult situations, whether it is a bereavement or loss, divorce, health concern, job or family issue. This may cause us to feel lost, confused, angry, unhappy, overwhelmed and with nowhere to turn and no-one to talk to. Counselling can help you to talk through your issues and feelings with someone who will listen to how you feel and think and how this affects you and others.
You often can’t do this with family and friends. A counsellor will, without judgment or giving advice or opinion, give you a safe and confidential space and time to reflect on your emotions, feelings, ways of thinking and behaviour patterns. This will enable you to make sense and understand yourself better so that you are more able to make changes and cope better with the situation, improving your well-being.
I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I use an integrative humanistic approach to counselling. This means that I will bring together different elements of counselling models tailored to suit the uniqueness of you and your personal needs and circumstances and help you to recognise your strengths, creativity and choices.
